Day 1

Castiglione in Teverina, Sipicciano

The journey starts from Castiglione in Teverina, on the discovery of the many places of faith that can be found in the medieval center of the village. The soul’s meditation comes more easily in front of ethereal artworks, among which star altarpieces of famous medieval and renaissance local artists in San Rocco, Madonna delle Macchie and SS. Filippo e Giacomo, to just name a few.
Passing through the arch between the two octagonal towers in Sipicciano, the thought about the nature of the soul will take you straight to the unsanctified complex of Santa Maria Assunta in Cielo, where the Baglioni Chapel will help with an ounce of clarity and a ton of splendor. Built in XVI century, as per wish of Alberto Baglioni, it is completely covered in Saint Francesco’s miracles frescoes by Marzio Ganassini, talented late-mannerist artist of Viterbo’s pictoric scene.

7:00 p.m. departure to a secret mansion, chosen for its poetic peacefulness, to have dinner and sleep.

Day 2

Bagnoregio Civita di Bagnoregio, Sant’Angelo di Roccalvecce

8:30 a.m. breakfast in the mansion. The journey continues to Bagnoregio, and its Civita, to discover the city where Saint Bonaventura, theologian of the Church and main biographer of saint Francesco. It will be possible to have a moment of recollection in front of Saint Bonaventura’s relic, or a serene reflection in the precious cloister of the Annunziata’s Church. Beyond the pedestrian bridge that will take you to the ethereal Civita, with a little effort of faith and imagination you will be able to sense the transcendent reflection that guided Saint Bonaventura’s life while looking at the iron stairs of the house where he was born. You will be able to feel a delicate emotion in front of the altarpiece in the Small Temple of Saint Bonaventura. Saint Donato Church will help you to experience a profound inner peace, while admiring the wooden crucifix done in Donatello school and the peruginian fresco

2:30 p.m. arrival at Sant’Angelo di Roccalvecce, where San Michele Arcangelo church will create a small oasis of peace and spiritual contemplation, right in the middle of the City of Fairytales.

7:30 p.m. back to the mansion, to dinner and sleep.

Day 3

Viterbo, Vitorchiano

8:30 a.m. Breakfast. Then the journey will be enriched by Viterbo. An exclusive visit to Palazzo dei Papi, symbol of the city will start from the glorious Loggia delle Benedizioni, or dei Papi, with its trefoil arches that turned Piazza san Lorenzo into an icon; after moving past the majestic Aula del Conclave, site of the first and longest cardinal meeting in history, you will arrive at Sala Guarterio, keeper of an invaluable parchment that witnessed the first pope election. After a stop to San Lorenzo Cathedral, to discover the monumental hidden sacristy, the tour will take you to the surprising Gonfalone Church and the enlightened Santa Rosa Sanctuary.

3:00 p.m. The journey will take you to Vitorchiano. During your visit to the Suspended Village you will discover San Nicola church, Santissima Trinità church, and above all S. Antonio Abbate church, where you will find the extraordinary “Cristo”: really big wooden crucifixes, used during religious processions and main liturgical celebrations by the religious city brotherhoods.

7:30 p.m. back to the mansion, to dinner and sleep.

Day 4

Bolsena

3:00 p.m. breakfast in the mansion and then arrival at Bolsena. In the City of the Eucharistic Miracle, where a knight’s doubts were swept away by the faith’s power, the journey in the soul dimension finds its culmination in the basilical complex of Santa Cristina, thanks to the visit of four holy places in one site. It will end in the paleochristian catacombs, where over 1600 burials gave testimony to the earth of how the christian faith has been on the lakeshore of Bolsena from the beginning.
End of services and departure.
